Color Is The New Black

I've turned a new leaf. The color leave, one could say. I'm slowly ditching my boring blacks, greys & whites for a more colorful clothing palette. I wore this the other night to go to the movies. I saw 21 Jumpstreet, it was funny & Channing Tatum was sexy of course (the main reason I wanted to see this movie anyway).  My next movie will have to be a chick flick, though.

I was actual surprised that I had so much color in my wardrobe, I just never pair them together. This outfit came out nice & the floral scarf just pulls it all together. SO what do you think about my new found love for color?!

It's Our Birfday!!

March 20th is a very special day: It's the first day of Spring (!!), it's MY birthday && this year, it's the one year anniversary of Shoes & Champagne!! I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday, but I also want to thank all the readers of my blog. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anywho, I got a few of my friends together for a nice little dinner. I had so much fun & wish we can all get together more often. We're all just too busy these days with work, bleh. I wanted to channel my inner Real Housewife & wanted to look extra glam. I cannot believe I didn't wear sequins, but the blingy necklace & glittered heels definitely make up for it.

I'm not too thrilled with the fit of this dress. It was bodycon on the model on the web site, but on me, it was a little loose. Guess all the working out & eating healthy is starting to pay off. What do you think of my birthday dinner outfit, yay or nay?!

Also, for all my RVA-ers, I recommend eating at DeLux. The food was tastey & the drinks were even tastier. The Pomango Fizz is amazing!!

New: Revlon Colorstay Aqua

I was perusing down the isle at Target the other day, when I stumpled upon this foundation. Meet Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Makeup. Normally, I don't even bother looking at the makeup at stores other than Sephora, but some drew this product to my attention. It claims to hydrate skin with coconut water, stay shine-free all day & give a luminous look that lasts. Fortunately, I've found these claims to be true! Seriously, dusting this on gives skin a wet sensation that cools- hello, perfect for the warmer temps. && it dries like a powder. I'm absolutely hooked on this & it stays put throughout the day!!

Birthday Wishlist 2012

I lost my other one. A replacement is a MUST.

I've been contemplating jumping on the wayfarer bandwagon, but Ray Bans aren't really my style. Leave it to Gucci to make a pair I actually love.

I would absolutely LOVE a bouquet of stargazers. These are my favorite flowers. Aren't they so PRETTY?!

For the record, I don't expect to get any of these. Birthdays aren't about gifts (yeah, I said it). I'm just looking forward to a nice little dinner with my friends. Pics to come because I treated myself to a birthday dress, shoes & necklace, of course.

Sorry for the horrible photos & my messy room. I only had a few seconds to take pics of this outfit before sprinting out the door. I wore this a few weeks ago to see a movie (The Vow). The weather was oddly warm for February, but I wasn't complaining. This was the perfect outfit or the movies- comfortable, yet chic. What do you normally wear to the movies?! Also, did you see The Vow, thoughts?!

New: Kate Spade

A few days ago, Kate Spade was having a sample sale. Items were up to 75% off. I had seen the Portola Valley Blaine handbag on a few different blogs. It was love at first sight. I had to get my hands on it. Luckily, the bag was part of the sample sale. The bag retails for $525 & I snagged it for a mere $239. Can you say JACKPOT. I can't wait to carry it!! Have you caught any good shopping deals lately?!

Thanks mom!! :-)

Review: Clinique & Vaseline

I typically do not do beauty product reviews, but I have found two items I cannot live without. The first is Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. I've tried multiple dark sot correctors & this is by far the best. It's unscented, which I love & the consistency is very moisturizing. It is a little pricey, 1oz is $48.50, but it works wonders for a less than perfect complexion. I highly recommend this.

The next product is Vaseline Lip Therapy. I purchased the mini one just because it's so adorable. I only use it on my lips while sleeping & usually following a lip scrub. It is extremely creamy & nourishing. My lips have never been more smooth. This item is way more affordable at around $1.00, so there's not need for you not to give it a try.

What are some of your favorite beauty products?!
