OOTD: Plaid & Fur

Hey all-

How's your week so far? Mine has been super busy. Because I get the pleasure (sarcasm at its finest) to work this weekend, I went into the office Monday at 1:30, which meant I got to workout before work. Then I was in Charlottesville Tuesday & Wednesday for training. I'm looking forward to having off Friday to relax & prepare to hold down the office all weekend solo. Wish me luck!

I wore this particular outfit Christmas day. My family didn't do anything formal, so I decided against a bronze sequin sweater & opted for faux fur & plaid with a festive red lip. It's casual, yet not too casual, which was perfect for breakfast at my aunt's house.

I know it was a few weeks ago, but what did you do for Christmas?!

OOTD: Chambray, Leopard & Colored Denim

Hey all-

One of my favorite aspects of blogging, is finding outfit inspiration. Sunday night, Emily from The Sweetest Thing posted an outfit that I instantly fell in love with. Even better, I had very similar pieces to recreate the entire ensemble! So naturally, on Monday, I couldn't wait to leave my house in this recreated amazingness. What do you think of our outfits?

OOTD: Brunch

Hey all-

FINALLY, an outfit post! I'm sure you all missed seeing what I wear on a daily basis. It actually feels really good to be sharing this outfit with you, even though it's not the greatest ensemble. I threw this on Saturday for a little trip to get mimosas. Let's face it, it wsn't brunch because I didn't eat a thing, just call it what it is.

I'd always loved an oversized sweater, but couldn't find one that I liked in person. So I took this ON sweater, which fit perfectly, put it in the wash & instead of lying it flat to dry, I hung it. &&& guess what, it stretched. I like how it's not too big, but still gives the oversized look I wantedto create.

Right before walking out of my door, I decided to ditch these pumps for tan suede wedges and threw on a scarf. For my first outfit post in a long long time, what do you think of this outfit?!

Orange, Faux Fur & Leopard= Perfection

Hi readers-

I hope you had amazing Thanksgivings, Black Fridays & Cyber Monday!! This is the first year I didn't go home, so no family time for me. I also couldn't participate in BF or CM because I was working- BLEH!

I did; however, get to grab drinks with one of my girl friends I hadn't seen in years this past weekend. That was great! So much FUN.

This is the outfit I wore Saturday night. Since I have to wear black, white & gray for work, I try not to wear any of those colors when not working. I opted for this bright orange blouse. I'm always looking for the opportunity to wear my faux fur vest. So naturally, I had to throw in on over my blouse. I had some trouble deciding which shoes to wear. I'd wanted to wear my patent leather taupe Sam & Libby pumps, but the weather was a tad chilly, so leopard booties seemed like the better choice.

All in all, I'm very happy with the way this outfit turned out.

Black, Red & Leopard

This past weekend, I had the privilege to go to Blacksburg to visit my brother. When I found out I was going, I knew I wanted to incorporate my favorites into this outfit- helloo, black, red & leopard. I also knew that's it's always chilly in the burg & threw a chambray shirt into my massive bag. Want to know a secret?! I only wore these wedges for these pics; too much walking is involved in Blacksburg to prance around in these beauties.

It was actually very nice to hangout with my family & just well, do nothing. I mean, we went out to eat & shopping, but when you're as busy as we are, it's nessecary sometimes to just do nothing. I did get a computer, too, so I'll be back to blogging!!!!!!

Well, I hope you all had a great weekend. What did you do?!

Life's A Gamble

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of getting out of Richmond to celebrate a friend's birthday. We headed to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia. While gambling isn't my thing, I had an amazing time & actually packed very well- I didn't forget a thing! Naturally, I thought I'd share a few of my traveling ensembles. Afterall, clothing IS the most important part!

Graduation Outfit

My favorite part about graduation is obviously the DRESS. Granted I was not graduating this year (because I did so 3 years ago), but my brother graduated. I took this as an opportunity to treat myself to a new dress. I decided to get something a little special, so I headed to Michael Kors. I love this new print & it comes in navy & tan. Michelle Obama gave the speech at Virginia Tech's graduation. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed she wore a Tech robe. I was looking forward to what she'd be wearing. What did you wear to graduation this year?!

Color Is The New Black

I've turned a new leaf. The color leave, one could say. I'm slowly ditching my boring blacks, greys & whites for a more colorful clothing palette. I wore this the other night to go to the movies. I saw 21 Jumpstreet, it was funny & Channing Tatum was sexy of course (the main reason I wanted to see this movie anyway).  My next movie will have to be a chick flick, though.

I was actual surprised that I had so much color in my wardrobe, I just never pair them together. This outfit came out nice & the floral scarf just pulls it all together. SO what do you think about my new found love for color?!

Put A Lil Color In It

Hiiiii. I know, I know. I've been a tad MIA lately. That's only because I have finally started to have a social life in Richmond. It's so bad (well actually good) that I only made it to the gym twice last week! My week consisted of working late Wednesday, going to see The Vow Thursday, going to dinner/drinks with my coworkers Friday, heading to the Virginia Wine Expo Saturday & then spending some quality time with SOS. Busy, busy, busy. To say the least, last week was tons of fun (minus that work part) & hopefully this week will be just as awesome. Mostly, I hope I make it to the gym.

Anyway, I decided to be as colorful as possible for the dinner Friday night. Helllllooo citrine blouse & royal skinnies. I initially thought the color was a little much, but it the outfit turned out quite well.

The wine expo was soooo much fun. I got to hangout with some girlfriends I hadn't seen in a while & made some new friends. Below is a pic of all our purchases for the day. Yes, we bought a lot of wine. I only walked away with four bottles & the most amazing wine glass ever. Seriously, it says "Hokie Hottie." Buying it was a no brainer!!

Also, I've ditched my dark vampish nail polish for turquoise. I'm starting to really like color. I even switched from my usual OPI to Essie & I may be in love with it.

Welllll, I need to get back to reality & get some things done... Just in case I have another insanely busy week.

Also, my birthday is next month. I'm debating whether or not to try Rent the Runway. Have any of you used it? Should I rent an Herve Leger dress for my birthday pressie?!

Bloggers Do It Better: Reeeeeed

I was a little excited to learn that the next BDIB challenge was red. These red pants just recently became a part of my wardrobe. I didn't want to standout too much in them, so I paired the pants with a super girly blouse. Obviously I wore the black shoes for photo purposes, but will def pair the two together in the future. I wore the leopard flats with this outfit to run errands in. Yes, I wore red pants to run around town. Never know who I might run into. How do you style your red pieces?!

New: Old Navy

I randomly went into Old Navy a few weeks ago during my lunch break. I didn't have a clue what I was going to buy, but it was payday, so it didn't matter. Like I've said in a previous post, ON has definitely stepped up its game & I couldn't be more happier. In my opinion, this little shopping excursion was successful & I actually plan on going back this weekend to see what else I can find (yes, it's another payday week!!!!).

This blouse is amazing. I've worn it here. It feels really nice & I love the color. It comes in other colors too, so I'll probably end up with s few more of these gems.

It was cold, so I convinced myself I needed sweaters. Good thing I strolled in ON because these just happened to be on sale. I think they were about $8 a piece, which is a steal. I haven't gotten a chance to wear the black one yet, but the tan one is super comfy. I wore it to work & my coworker complimented me on my "lovely sweater."

I workout about 4-5 times a week. Normally, I wear Nike or Adidas running capris/tights, but these are actually very comparable & at a fraction of the price. I'll probably get a pair of tights next time, since I have so many pairs of capris.

Okay, so I finally broke down & jumped on the colored denim bandwagon. I must say, it felt good. I am now obsessed with this trend & plan on getting a pink pair (duh) & blue pair next. The biggest plus about these little reddies?! They were $17!!! So even if I hated them, it didn't matter. Luckily, I love them.
Although I only had a few minutes to shop, I ended up with great pieces. I actually only spent $98 and received a coupon for $20 off my next $40 purchase!! I will without a doubt be heading back to Old Navy. Do you you shop at Old Navy?!
