New: H&M & Peebles

Before you complain to me about my lack of outfit posts, I'd like to apologize. I've been extremely busy & actually have been doing waaaay more shopping than snapping photos. I want to share with you a few of the purchases I've been making lately.

This first photo is of some things I picked up at H&M today. I got this navy dress to wear to work. While I am free to wear what I choose, the policy is to wear lots of neutrals. Since I've grown tired of boring black, I've strayed towards navy as my go-to shade. I've also been wanting some statement jewelry. While I don't quite have the budget for any Kate Spade pieces, I think these will suffice... For now anyway. I got these for a mere $42, which is a steal. I can always count on H&M to keep a little money in my wallet.

This second photo is from a recent trip to Peebles with my mama. She always buys me something when I'm home (can't complain one bit). I've been wanting a pair of white skinny jeans for some time now & couldn't resist settling for this pair (who wants to spend tons on J Brands?!). They fit great & aren't too tight. They are made by A. Byer. Naturally, I need a blouse to pair with these pants. I saw this cute cobalt blue tank, bit it wasn't in my size, so I went to my new staple color- NAVY. The two pair nicely, but I will probably wear a colorful blouse with these pants; well outside of work that is. The lacy blouse is made by a company called Heart Soul (http://heartsoulusa.com). The rainbow colored dress is Calvin Klein. I got this when I was unaware of the neutral dress code at work. Nonetheless, it's a cute dress. I got it for $80, which is a great price considering I saw it today at Dillard's for $118.

I also bought some summer dresses, Jessica Simpson black wedges & lots of Nike Dri-Fit for the gym, but I'll spare you those pics. Hopefully, the dresses & wedges will appear in my next outfit posts.

Another Interview Outfit

Lately it seems all I do is head to job interviews. I am definitely not complaining because I need a new job! Last week, I work this dress with my new wedges. I actually found this Calvin Klein dress at Ross a few months ago. Get this, it was only $20!! Not to mention my Steve Madden wedges, that I picked up at Marshalls, were only $31.99!! I love a food deal.

I had been getting into color, but as you see, black has crept it's way back into rotation. I'll try to work on this.

What to Wear: Job Interview

I know, I know.. I've been missing in action the past few weeks, but a lot has been going on. I plan to make major changes- job wise- and have been busy trying to figure out the next step. In this time, I have been on oodles of job interviews. Last week, I took a photo of what I wore to one & wanted to share with you my favorite items to wear- sheath dress & scarves!

I love taking a plain, nicely cut dress & adding a printed scarf or vice versa. I believe you can never go wrong with a pop of color. Just be sure the dress is of appropriate length & not too tight. Adding a colorful scarf adds personality to the dress, while still being professional. It's always important to be fashion forward, yet professional when going to an interview.

Just wanted to share with you what I did on Memorial Day. I played a little putt-putt. I'm actually very bad at it, but it was really fun. I love being overdressed for things & I believe I accomplished that by wearing this ensemble. I was told that I looked liked I was on a yacht. Yes, I take this as a compliment. Life's A Gamble

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of getting out of Richmond to celebrate a friend's birthday. We headed to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia. While gambling isn't my thing, I had an amazing time & actually packed very well- I didn't forget a thing! Naturally, I thought I'd share a few of my traveling ensembles. Graduation Outfit

My favorite part about graduation is obviously the DRESS. Granted I was not graduating this year (because I did so 3 years ago), but my brother graduated. I took this as an opportunity to treat myself to a new dress. I decided to get something a little special, so I headed to Michael Kors. I love this new print & it comes in navy & tan. Michelle Obama gave the speech at Virginia Tech's graduation. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed she wore a Tech robe. I was looking forward to what she'd be wearing. The Webster for Target

Target never seizes to amaze me. The Shops at Target is part of their new design collaboration & I absolutely cannot get enough of it! My favorite shop is The Webster. This boutique is located in the heart of Miami and features RTW men’s & women’s clothing & luxury accessories. According to a press release, “The Webster at Target includes apparel and accessories for women, men, kids and baby inspired by the essence and sunshine of Miami, Fla., featuring flamingo and deco prints in shades of coral, navy and green.” As if this collection couldn’t get any better, the prices range from $7.99 - $49.99. I can’t wait to get my handles on this collection. It’s only around for a limited time!!

Who Says Shoes & Champagne Don't Go Together?!

A few weeks ago, I attended a meet & greet for the opening of a new store here in town. The name of the store is, get this, Champagne & Shoes! SO naturally, I had to meet the ladies running the store. It was a great event & these ladies were very nice. I highly recommend you stop by the store or head over to the web site- very nice selection of SHOES!!

Anywho, I've been obsessed with color lately & have rarely worn any black. I knew I wanted to wear something bright to this event. I fell in love with this dress while perusing through H&M. Well, I've learned not to buy one piece, but a complete outfit, so I just had to have a nice new crisp white blazer to top off this little number. I had been lusting over these shoes for months & thought they'd pair nicely with this orange dress. Not to brag, but I was DEAD ON!
