Day 6: RVA Fashion Week

I wore this outfit to day 5 during RVA Fashion Week. I was so excited when I found this Guess dress at TJ Maxx while I was on my lunch break. The mesh sides gives it a little something extra. It also matched my Jessica Simpson heels that I rarely every wear. To top off this look, I had to choose my Courtney Bib.

RVA Fashion Week: Day 2

Today, I bring you photos from Day 2 of RVA Fashion Week. It was a networking social held at Tobacco Company. It was a great event & I met lots of great people!

I knew I wanted to wear something I typically wouldn't wear, but also pieces I already owned. I have learned one can never go wrong with chambray. Normally I pair this shirt with colored denim, but I had only worn this chiffon skirt once before, so I knew it'd be perfect. I'm in love with my earrings from Sassy Jones Boutique, too. They'd paired impeccably with this outfit!

RVA Fahsion Week: Day 1

As promised, I've got a new post for your enjoyment! Last week was RVA Fashion Week. I attended the events last year & the previous year, but this year I decided to put my degree in PR to some use & volunteered on the PR team. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun.

This year, Day 1 kicked off in Carytown. A few stores & boutiques participated, hosting a fashion show at their store front. I only snapped a few pics during the shows mainly because I get so wrapped up in the show, I forget that I'm actually a blogger & should be documenting these. The above photos were taken at AlterNatives & the other pics below from GlassBoat & Ten Thousand Villages.

Thankfully, what I did manage to remember are outfit pictures! I decided this year, I wouldn't purchase anything new to wear during fashion week (mostly due to a lack of funds, but I digress). The morning of the Carytown shows, I knew I'd wanted to wear a peplum top, the issue was deciding which bottoms to pair with it. I chose these magenta pants that I typically wear to the office, but wanted a pop of color. I didn't know how far I'd have to walk either, so I chose my cute yet comfy Jessica Simpson wedges. Naturally, I had to wear my Courtney Bib. The outfit worked for this day & I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I also popped into Fab'rik after their show & purchased some goodies you'll see later! I hope you all have fab weekends (I'll be working :-/)

Boho Cycle Studio

Hello,

It's F R I D A Y! I just wanted to let you all in on my newest obsession- Boho Cycle Studio. It's an indoor cycling studio that opened not too long ago in Richmond. Honestly, to say I'm obsessed is an understatement. I have never been into fitness classes before, but was intrigued by the idea of of a cycle-only studio. It's so New York to have a place like this here in Richmond- hello, SoulCycle.

The building is this awesome shade of blue that makes me happy just looking at it. The instructors & staff are nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere is also very fun & relaxing. The classes are an hour long & you get the best workout in that amount of time. The music is always upbeat. It's literally 'a party on a bike'. Although it isn't glamorous, but you will leave drenched in sweat, which is the indication of a great workout. At the end of each class, you can cool down with a lavender-scented, refridgerated towel.

I only have good things to say about Boho. If you live in Richmond or visiting, I highly recommend getting your spin on here. Visit the web site for class schedules & more info!

Happy Weekend!!

OOTD: Eurotrash Fashion Show Pt. 1

Hello-

I decided to take a break from posting about New York Fashion Week to show you what I wore to a fashion show last night. Eurotrash is a store located in Carytown and last night they had a little get together & fashion show (more pics in pt. 2). I fought the urge to buy a new outfit for this event & scoured through my closet. Naturally, I wanted to wear sequins, afterall, it was a nighttime event. I knew my jacket from The Limited was perfect. I also like pairing this jacket with my Sam Edelmans that I was lucky enough to find at Marshalls a few months ago for a mere $45!! I also got raves reviews for my distressed boyfriend jeans & decided to go for a more casual look. I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome.Would you wear this outfit or something similar?

What Haute to Wear

Hey all-

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending a fashion show sponsored by Dress for Success, What Haute to Wear: A Recycled Fashion Show. It was a great event, not only showcasing outfits for women to wear to interviews, but also a competition  where designers had to take item donated & create entirely different looks. Needless to say, it was a great event & I'm happy I attended. (This post is very picture heavy)
