Sunglasses 101

If you've been following my blog, you know I have a huge obsession with sunglasses, or sunnies, as I like to call them. These are a very important accessory to have, especially since they protect your eyes from the sun. Finding the perfect pair for your face shape can be a little tricky. Lucky for you, I have lots of experience in picking out sunnies & will let you in on a few tricks!

If you have a square shaped face, you have a strong jawline, broad forhead & a square chin. Your face is proportional in length & width. The best sunnies for you are ones with oval & round frames. You want to aviod frames that accenuate the angles of your face.

You hace full cheecks, a rounded chin & few angles. Angular frames will sharpen your facial features. Rectangular styles with make your face appear thinner & longer. You want to draw attention to the top of your face so avaiod small & short styles.
RB3016 CLUBMASTER 49 $144.95405 MAKAHA $179.95

You have a broad forehead & wide cheeckbones that narrow to a smaller chin. Round frames will soften the forehead. Frames with decorative temples will only draw atention to your forehead, so avoid at all costs.
PR27NS $290.00216 SAND DOLLAR $259.00

Lucky you! You can pull of all styles of sunnies!! Just be sure the frames aren't too large for your face (unless you're me & don't care).
RB2132 55 WAYFARER $174.95RA4004 $124.95

Also, I highly advise you all to get lenses that are polarized. These lenses will cut down on a lot of glare & make driving or even playing sports outside a lot easier.

I also, recommend stopping by you local Sunglass Hut & let the experts help you find you the perfect sunnies!! Shop online here.

Fifty Shades of Oxblood

Oxblood is the new IT color for fall. I am very obsessed with this deep burgundy, red wine color (must be the hokie in me)!! I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair of oxblood leather pants, chunky sweaters & of course, lipstick. What do you think of this new color trend? Will you be wearing it?!

In case you were wonder: Yes, I'm smoofing Fifty Shades of Grey (clever, right?!). No, I did not & will not read the series.

Nicole Richie for Impulse at Macy's

I've always been super obsessed with Nicole Richie. Yes, even when she was a hot mess on The Simple Life with BFF Paris Hilton. Her style over the years has definitely gotten a lot better & no one rocks the boho look quite like Nicole. I was thrilled to learn that the Fashion Star judge was releasing a line sold exclusovely at Macy's. Every item in this collection retails for $33-$129, which is super affordable. While it will only be sold at 100 Macy's stores, we all can shop the line at Nicole Richie for Impulse will only be sold for a limited time & I can't wait to get my hands on it all! Here are a few of my favorite pieces:

Black, Red & Leopard

This past weekend, I had the privilege to go to Blacksburg to visit my brother. When I found out I was going, I knew I wanted to incorporate my favorites into this outfit- helloo, black, red & leopard. I also knew that's it's always chilly in the burg & threw a chambray shirt into my massive bag. Want to know a secret?! I only wore these wedges for these pics; too much walking is involved in Blacksburg to prance around in these beauties.

It was actually very nice to hangout with my family & just well, do nothing. I mean, we went out to eat & shopping, but when you're as busy as we are, it's nessecary sometimes to just do nothing. I did get a computer, too, so I'll be back to blogging!!!!!!

Well, I hope you all had a great weekend. What did you do?!

Inspo By Courtney Kerr

About two months ago, there was a blogger meetup. It was very fun & I met a lot of cool local bloggers. My outfit's inspiration came from none other than my fashion muse, Courtney Kerr. Her style is immpeccable & budget friendly. So OBSESSED. Be sure to check out her blog, What Courtney Wore, & her new show, Courtney Loves Dallas, when it airs on Bravo later this year.

Enough about Courtney, I saw this picture of her outfit & knew I had to recreate this look. I love the chambray shirt paired witha chiffon pleated yellow skirt. Such a perfect outfit for summer (obvs she wore hers in fall, hence the booties & leather jacket).

Who's your fashion muse?!
