I wear a lot of solids- too many some may argue. So to spice up my work wardrobe a little, I started purchasing printed cardigans. Target has some of the best printed cardi &&& they're super affordable. See entire collection here. The ones below are currently hanging in my closet!
I'd like to preface this post with the fact that I'm by no means a hat person. However, I must get my hands on a Panama hat. I can simply picture myself with a black maxi dress, sipping cocktails on a patio, rocking my hat. A while back, I saw one at Target, but chose to pass on it. Now, I'm wishing I would've purchased it. In the meantime, I'll just search online until I'm brave enough to bite the bullet. Would you wear a Panama hat?!
A couple of months ago, the wonderful people at Influenster sent me over some makeup from Mary Kay to try. Honestly, I haven't used MK in about 8 years, when my mom used to purchase it from her friend. I had never been too thrilled with the brand, BUT my opinion has changed! This lip gloss has been my go-to since it arrived at my doorstep. Not only is it moisturizing, but it also has great shine. The shade I received is called Mango Tango, which is a orange-y shade. I cannot wait to try a few of the other shades, Fancy Nancy & Au Naturel to name a few. At $14 a pop, you definitely get long-lasting color & brilliant shine. I highly recommend giving this gloss a try!
Day 5 of RVA Fashion Week took place at The Broadberry. This show was my favorite of the entire week. The drinks were flowing, the music bumping, lots of beautifully dress patrons- perfection!
I stuck with my goal for the week of not purchasing a new outfit for each event. I bought this dress a few years ago from H&M. To add a pop of color, I paired my cobalt shoes, aka blue suede shoes, with this flowy number.
I am content with this ensemble. I only wish I could have made a trip to the hair salon!!

I just wanted to share this cool event with you. It's happening tonight at Short Pump at, one of my favorite stores, Bevello. Who doesn't love to shop & enjoy an adult beverage after a long workwear. Although, I won't be able to attend, I hope who do, have a fabulous time!
Today, I bring you photos from Day 2 of RVA Fashion Week. It was a networking social held at Tobacco Company. It was a great event & I met lots of great people!
I knew I wanted to wear something I typically wouldn't wear, but also pieces I already owned. I have learned one can never go wrong with chambray. Normally I pair this shirt with colored denim, but I had only worn this chiffon skirt once before, so I knew it'd be perfect. I'm in love with my earrings from Sassy Jones Boutique, too. They'd paired impeccably with this outfit!

As promised, I've got a new post for your enjoyment! Last week was RVA Fashion Week. I attended the events last year & the previous year, but this year I decided to put my degree in PR to some use & volunteered on the PR team. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun.
This year, Day 1 kicked off in Carytown. A few stores & boutiques participated, hosting a fashion show at their store front. I only snapped a few pics during the shows mainly because I get so wrapped up in the show, I forget that I'm actually a blogger & should be documenting these. The above photos were taken at AlterNatives & the other pics below from GlassBoat & Ten Thousand Villages.
Thankfully, what I did manage to remember are outfit pictures! I decided this year, I wouldn't purchase anything new to wear during fashion week (mostly due to a lack of funds, but I digress). The morning of the Carytown shows, I knew I'd wanted to wear a peplum top, the issue was deciding which bottoms to pair with it. I chose these magenta pants that I typically wear to the office, but wanted a pop of color. I didn't know how far I'd have to walk either, so I chose my cute yet comfy Jessica Simpson wedges. Naturally, I had to wear my Courtney Bib. The outfit worked for this day & I wouldn't change a thing about it.
I also popped into Fab'rik after their show & purchased some goodies you'll see later! I hope you all have fab weekends (I'll be working :-/)
